Christmas in Full Swing

As promised in my last post I have been busy creating new Christmas designs and improving my old designs and photos.

One thing I have learned throughout the life of my Etsy shop is that quality photos will sell an item quicker than anything else. Photos that I have received from my customers and from photographers have been such a blessing for my sales. For those items that I do not have professional pictures of I have taken pictures myself. I will post about that another time – for now I will stick to the newest items in my shop.

Most recently I created my Newborn Swaddle Sack Snowman Outfit. The swaddle sack is made with white homespun yarn which I think creates the perfect texture to look just like fluffy snow.

The red scarf is actually Tunisian crochet. I love the way knit looks but am not very good at it. Tunisian crochet is the perfect blend of the two and this “knit stitch” really does make it look like it was knit.

(I did’t really get a good shot of the right side of the scarf to show the knit stitch). If you’re interested in learning this technique, this video┬áby Kim Guzman is a great tutorial!

The holly berry cloth buttons and the jewels were purchased at Joann’s.

If you like this outfit and would like to see my others please head to my Etsy shop and “like” them as well as liking this post! Thanks so much!

Catching my Breath

Last month was my most productive month in the history of my Etsy shop. I listed some new items at the beginning of the month that were a HUGE hit for Halloween.

Unfortunately this means I did not get any professional pictures back from them so I will have to share my own photos.

I purchased a pattern from Beezy Mom’s Creations for a newborn pixie bonnet and pants with suspenders and have been able to utilize the pant pattern over and over throughout my shop. You can see them here in these Wizard of Oz inspired Cowardly Lion and Scarecrow outfits.

For the “straw” in the Scarecrow outfit I used the same fun fur yarn that I wrote about in one of my previous posts. It’s the pound of yarn that keeps going and going.

This little number may be my favorite of the three outfits. Of course this Dorothy outfit comes with sparkling red slippers.

I am so excited to keep up the momentum and am currently preparing for Christmas. I have learned that with a shop like mine it is key to stay ahead of the calendar and have plenty of items prepared ahead of time. Mothers expecting around Thanksgiving have likely already purchased their newborn photography props, so I will get ready for the next big event.
